I know things have been tough as of late. We’re in the middle of a global pandemic. We’re social distancing to flatten the curve, and that comes with struggles of its own. One of the things that has helped our family as we face this is knowing that we have non-toxic products to clean our home with, essential oils and products to support our immune and respiratory systems, and essential oils to support us emotionally. Plus, we have an amazing community to support us through this tough time.

MAY WELLNESS IDEAS
This month we're focusing on ideas for personal care! We’re so grateful that Young Living makes ditching toxins and switching to natural products so simple because what we put on our skin is just as important as what we’re breathing in and putting in our body. Here's why! When you put something on your skin, it can enter your bloodstream without being metabolized, and many blood tests show that substances commonly included in deodorant (and other personal care products) are potential endocrine disruptors (chemicals that may mess with the function of your body's reproductive and developmental hormones) found in the blood after using such products.

We included a few of the recently launched products that are available on Essential Rewards this month (grab them ASAP before they’re gone!). With summer on its way, we also included some of our favorite products for spring and summer - Insect Repellent, Sunscreen, and After Sun Spray.
VALOR DEODORANT
I had to put this first because I’m OBSESSED with it. If you would have told me a few years ago that I’d be EXCITED about deodorant, I would have laughed at you. But, here we are! It's crazy the amount of harmful chemicals that are allowed in conventional deodorants. A quick google search will help you to see ingredients you want to avoid in deodorant like aluminum, parabens, triclosan, phthalates, and fragrance. Some compounds are absorbed and stored in fat cells, which are prevalent in the underarm area. Your underarm tissue also contains hormone receptors, which could react to some of those same deodorant ingredients. Trust me - make the switch to Valor Deodorant! You’ll be so happy you did.
LUSHIOUS LEMON FOAMING HAND SOAP
Another Spring Launch item that I’m in love with! This hand soap smells so good and has me hoping there are more products to come with this scent! This hand soap is perfect for spring and fall and will keep your hands hydrated no matter how many times a day you use it!
LENGTHENING & VOLUMIZING MASCARAS
I know I just said that I was obsessed with the Valor Deodorant, but I’m also OBSESSED with these new mascaras! I shared a couple of selfies to show how awesome the mascara is in Dream Oilers Lifestyle if you want to go check them out. These all natural mascaras are absolutely amazing. It’s crazy what a difference a good mascara can make! Let's talk volume first. Not only is the Volumizing Mascara going to plump up your lashes, it's also natural, nourishing, non-clumping, and non-irritating! Say that 10x fast lol! If you're looking for length, the Lengthening Mascara is going to give you lashes for days! It transforms each lash to create longer, fuller-looking lashes, all while conditioning lashes. As someone who has sensitive eyes, I can tell you that these mascaras don’t bother my eyes at all and make my lashes long and voluminous!
INSECT REPELLENT
This Insect Repellent isn’t messing around! It’s hypoallergenic, vegan-friendly, and formulated without DEET, parabens, fillers, phthalates, petrochemicals, animal-derived ingredients, synthetic preservatives, synthetic fragrances, or synthetic colorants, so it's safe for kids too! Young Living’s Insect Repellent has been tested to repel mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas using only 100 percent naturally derived, plant-based ingredients. Pure sesame oil and a carefully selected blend of essential oils traditionally used for their bug-repellent properties come together to make up all 99 percent of the active ingredients in this formula. The other 1 percent? Vitamin E. That means we can use it on ourselves and our little ones and not worry about the synthetic chemicals used in many traditional repellents. You’ll also love the pleasant, citrusy aroma and smooth, non-greasy, non-sticky application.
MINERAL SUNSCREEN
This natural sunscreen is free of harsh ingredients, making it a healthy alternative for adults and kids! Instead of melting in the sun, melt this lightweight, fast-absorbing sunscreen into your skin for added protection from UVA and UVB rays. It's dermatologist-tested, non-greasy, fast-absorbing, and made with non-nano zinc oxide! We can enjoy the outdoors worry-free with up to 80 minutes of water- and sweat-resistant lotion. It's also reef safe, which we love.
LAVADERM AFTER SUN SPRAY
Naturally derived after-sun spray offers temporary relief from the pain and itching of minor burns, minor cuts, sunburns, scrapes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations, so your family can keep playing all day. We use this quite a bit, especially in the summer, and it's awesome! It’s also been super soothing for our dry skin.
YOUNG LIVING SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
We suggested KidScents Shampoo and Lavender Mint Shampoo and Conditioner, but all of Young Living’s Shampoo and Conditioners are great! Check out this blog post for a bit more about each option so you can choose the best one for your hair type. There’s also a hack for doubling your shampoo and conditioner by diluting it!
YOUNG LIVING BATH & SHOWER GEL
Just like the shampoo and conditioner, you can’t go wrong with any of the bath gels! We suggested the Morning Start Bath & Shower Gel, but there are a bunch of options for you to choose from. There’s even an unscented Bath & Shower Gel Base that you can customize with your own oils!
THIEVES WHITENING TOOTHPASTE
You’re going to love this toothpaste! I’ve been trying to get my husband to switch to Thieves toothpaste for five years, but it wasn’t until Young Living released the Whitening Toothpaste that he finally made the switch! It’s all natural, tastes great, and foams like traditional toothpaste without all of the harmful ingredients!
YOUNG LIVING LIP BALM
You can never have too many lip balms - is it just me or do they always seem to disappear?! The Lavender is my favorite because it’s so hydrating, but I totally recommend trying them all out! There’s also Grapefruit, Cinnamint, and a VanillaMint that’s a seasonal exclusive!
ADDITIONAL IDEAS
ART Skincare System is so good for your skin! I have tried so many "skin systems" over the years - from the cheapest to the most expensive, and they've all just made my skin worse. Until ART, that is. ART stands for Age Refining Technology, and using this trio (and the ART Renewal Serum) has made such a positive change in my skin! It's clear and bright, with very minimal breakouts. Consistency is key for skincare; our skin cells regenerate every 28 days, so we need to consistently use a product for at least that long to really see the results. Consistently taking care of your skin will show over time.
Cleansing the skin is the first step in maintaining healthy-looking and -feeling skin. Cleansing helps to remove buildup from dirt, oil, and other environmental particles. Skipping cleansing can cause textural issues and dullness and can leave the skin unable to properly regenerate itself overnight. This can lead to breakouts and other unwanted issues. Make sure to clean your skin morning and night and never sleep with your makeup on, even if it is mineral makeup.
ART Refreshing Toner gently removes impurities without drying the skin. The perfect blend of essential oils helps balance your skin's pH, while leaving your face clean, toned, and refreshed. Use Art Refreshing Toner after cleansing to remove any excess oil, dirt and makeup. Toning helps ensure you've gotten everything off your face and it’s truly clean. This toner is designed to work with other ART products, so this is the perfect time to grab it! Add the toner to a cotton ball or cotton round to wipe down your face after cleansing. Be sure to pay extra attention to the nose, chin, and t zone which is often extra oily.
We also have to moisturize! ART Light Moisturizer is suitable for all skin types because it works with your skin to retain and maintain proper hydration, which is something we all need. When our cells are properly hydrated, they can better replace themselves which keeps us looking younger longer. Who doesn't want that?
DREAM OILERS OILS OF THE MONTH
For the rest of the year, we're going to be announcing our Oils of the Month a month BEFORE we're going to be using them so that everyone can get them added to their ER order and have them ready to go on the first of the month!
Our oils of the month for JUNE will be LAVENDER and FRANKINCENSE. These are two favorites from our Premium Starter Kit, AND they’re free with this month’s promos! These are calming, multi-purpose oils that we’re super excited to intentionally use consistently in June!

WHITE ANGELICA
White Angelica is a blend that is calming and soothing, bringing feelings of protection and security. Its frequency neutralizes negative energy.
AUSTRALIAN BLUE
Australian Blue is a blend that uplifts and inspires while simultaneously grounding and stabilizing. It includes blue cypress, which has a n t i v i r a l properties; sounds like the perfect combo right now!
IDEAS FOR USING WHITE ANGELICA & AUSTRALIAN BLUE
make a roller with 15 drops white angelica and 15 drops australian blue
add amazonite, which dispels negative energy
make a spray with 10 drops each of white angeilca & australian blue, a little bit of witch hazel, and top off with water
spray anywhere you’re feeling negative vibes or need some inspiration/grounding.
diffuse white angelica & australian blue to start your day on a positive note
make bath salts with white angelica or envision
1/2 cup epsom salt, 1/8 cup baking soda, and 5 drops EO
DAILY PRACTICE WITH WHITE ANGELICA & AUSTRALIAN BLUE
Grab White Angelica and drop into your hand. Use the other hand to activate the oil (3 clockwise circles with fingertips of opposite hand). Apply it on your shoulders and then anywhere else you feel called - crown of your head, then back of neck & shoulders, or wherever you'd like. Cup your hands over your mouth & nose and deeply inhale. Relax with each breath. Clear your head and let go of your worries. Begin your day with a positive affirmation like: I choose to be happy and positive today.
Now, take Australian Blue and do the same thing to activate it. Apply where you feel called. Cup your hands over your mouth & nose and deeply inhale. Keep your eyes closed. Repeat your positive affirmation or try a new one like: I choose love and kindness.
Continue your gratitude journal from last month, writing 5 specific things you’re grateful for from the day before (if you do it in the morning) or the current day (if you do it at night).
