One of the best things we can do for ourselves and our families is to rid ourselves of the toxic chemicals in our homes. I don’t know about you, but I had NO CLUE how toxic things that we were using every day were until getting started on my essential oil journey. 

Removing the toxins has helped with SO MANY things - our respiratory health, immune systems, skin issues, emotions... the list goes on and on. And then adding essential oils and plant based products, it was like MULTIPLYING the good in our home! We truly are happier and healthier than ever before.

Household cleaning products contain many hidden toxins. Three of the most common are 2-Butoxyethanol, ammonia, and bleach & chlorine. 2-Butoxyethanol can cause sore throats when inhaled and at high levels can contribute to narcosis, pulmonary edema, and severe liver and kidney damage. Ammonia can trigger asthma and chronic bronchitis with regular/frequent exposure. Bleach & chlorine are respiratory and skin irritants and can also be hormone disrupters.

We’ve replaced all of the cleaners in our home with Thieves Household Cleaner. It’s a powerful all-purpose concentrated cleaner with 100% plant- and mineral- based ingredients; it is biodegradable and complies with EPA standards. And you can use it on ANY surface in your home! We use it on our counters, tables, windows, mirrors, wood floors, stainless steel appliances… even to clean up our bathrooms!

The Thieves Kitchen & Bath Scrub is another one of our favorite products. It works so well, even on the toughest stains.

We use it for sinks, tubs, and even pyrex dishes when they get that brown, impossible to remove residue stuck on them.

Get the surface wet, sprinkle a little of this magical powder on, rub it in a little, let it sit for about 20 minutes, and then wipe it away! Even the most stubborn grease can be wiped away with ease.

Another easy switch is to Thieves Dish Soap. I never realized that dish soap leaves a residue on our dishes when we wash them.

As soon as I learned that, I decided to ditch the blue store bought dish soap we used to use and switch over to Thieves. It’s super concentrated, so I actually dilute it with water - one bottle becomes two! I put it in a foaming soap pump to make it super easy to use and add a little baking soda to make it suds up a bit more. You can also use it as is; I’m just a sucker for saving money!

Last but not least, we switched over to Thieves Laundry Soap (another product that’s concentrated and I dilute!). This was one of the most impactful changes we made; it made a huge difference in skin and respiratory issues.

We also got rid of dryer sheets and switched over to dryer balls with essential oils on them. Thieves and Lemon are great options to add to your dryer balls, and they come with your kit!
